Students played “dice games” to study the difference between experimental and theoretical probability. All of the dice pages (4) are due next class. Students may want to do the coin toss, also, but it is not required.

**For the next unit, it is important that ALL students have their own rulers and graph paper. I have protractors here at school, but it is helpful for students to have protractors to use for work at home, also.

Students took their MSA test on Thursday. Today we started our new book, Shapes and Designs . We worked to practice measuring with protractors and sorting polygons. Due Monday: unit 1.1 and ACE Chapter 1, 1-5.

Students took their Symbols test on Thursday.

We have started the study of Systems of Equations. New book is It’s In the System Students started work in units 1.2 and 1.3 today. For 1.3 C, students are to solve using BOTH graphic and symbolic methods (one to solve and one to check). Work is due on Monday.

Students took their quiz today. They will work on revisions and studying next class.

Students used class time to work on ACE and/or Study guides to prepare for next week’s assessments.

Error on key: Matching for number 4, I switched the graph and equation letters. The Group 3 should read Table C, Graph G, and Equation J. Also, Table B is grouped with Graph H and Equation M

Finally, problem 12 e is marked as a challenge. There will NOT be a problem this hard on the assessments.

Students entered notes on perpendicular and parallel lines in their notebooks. Students continued practice with applications of linear equations by working A, C, and D of unit 4.4 and ACE numbers 3-12, due next class.

Mathxl 4 due Friday 4/21 at 8 am. Also all Equation quiz revisions should be done by Friday.

Quiz Monday for Period 2 and Tuesday for Period 6.

Test for both classes on Thursday 4/27.

Students are preparing for their Quiz 2 (Monday) and Test (Wednesday) by working ACE Chapter 5: 1-6, 9, 13, 30, 33-37, and 39; AND Chapter 4: 31, 38, 49-51.

Mathxl 2 due Friday April 21 at 8am.

Quiz 1 revisions due Friday.

Students took notes on parallel and perpendicular lines as we reviewed unit 4.3. We continued work with applications of linear equations. Due next class: unit 4.4 (A, C, D only- NOT B) and ACE numbers 3-12.

Students continued exploration of slope with parallel and perpendicular lines. Unit 4.3 due next class.

Quiz revisions from the equation quiz are due no later than 4/21

Quiz 3 of MSA has been moved to Tuesday for Period 6.

Mathxl unit 4 is still due on Friday 4/21 and the test dates remain the same.

****All Students need to bring their own rulers and graph paper to school!
