Quiz on 11/7 Learning Targets:

- I can write the equation for a line given: two points; the slope and y-intercept; the slope and a point; the y-intercept and a point; given an equation of a parallel or perpendicular line and a point.
- I can identify a linear pattern given a set of data a write the equation for the line (first differences!).
- I can write a linear equation given a problem situation.
- I can solve multi-step equations.

Students completed unit 2.3 in class and have ACE problems to continue working on. Due next class: 2.3 and ACE starting on page 37: numbers 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 11, 14, 16, 17 (Optional Challenge: 30, 31, 35.)

Mathxl unit 1 due Tuesday and unit 2 due Wednesday at 8 AM.

Quiz for Periods 2, 5 on Wednesday and Period 6 on Thursday.

We reviewed linear equations and put another example in our notebooks.

Students started Thinking With Math Models. Unit 1.3 is due Tuesday. We will start putting notes in our notebooks about recognizing patterns in data on Tuesday.

We completed unit 2.3 and worked on ACE problems starting on page 37: numbers ,3 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 11, 14, 16, 17 (Challenge problems: 30, 31, 35.)

Students completed unit 2.2 in class and then started the ACE work on page 37 (on a separate paper), numbers 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9

We reviewed parallel and perpendicular lines and their equations. Students are to work to complete the purple sheet, or work until they have questions. I will work examples and answer questions tomorrow so that students can continue the work with linear equations over the weekend, if necessary.

Students put notes about similar figures in their notebooks. Students are to continue practice with graphing and figures by completing unit 2.2, the data table and only re-drawing Mug’s had on the provided grid paper, due next class.

Students continued notes on similar figures and are to practice by completing unit 2.3, A, problems 1-4 only.

Students took notes on writing equations on lines. They are to practice to complete both sides of the worksheet. (except 5.2, 16-20) due next class.

Students put 3 pages of notes in their notebooks along with some examples to help solve the next few units. We will add to these notes throughout the unit.

Due Wednesday: Unit 2.2. When writing rules, think about what you need to multiply x and y by to get the new shape (the scale factor!)
