Monday (9/23)

Today’s class began with a mini-lesson on convention/mechanic errors that recurred in students’ YOLO essays. Skills included colon use, placing commas and periods inside close/end quotation marks, possessive nouns, defiantly vs. definitely, there/their/they’re, and avoiding formulaic transition words in short essays.

Group presentations of short stories and their literary elements was time well spent for the majority of the class period.

No homework assigned today; however, you should continue reading and taking notes for the first quarter book report, The Character Wheel.
