1. Today in class we took the MSND vocabulary List 1 quiz. If you were absent or if you wish to get a higher score, come in before school, during lunch, or after school by Monday, March 4, to take care of this.
2. As an opening journal entry, we listed common pairs such as peanut butter & jelly, Romeo & Juliet, this & that, rise & shine, cats & dogs, fish & chips. I related these pairs to Lysander’s line in MSND 1:1 “The course of true love never did run smooth,” and read past students’ narratives when the were to compose a story detailing a ‘pairs’ struggle’ to be together. After the vocab quiz, we started drafting that piece. Jacob L wrote a clever on about a ball and bat. Your narrative must meet the following criteria:
- pick a pair
- establish an obstacle (s) that keeps the pair apart
- devise a plan to reunite the pair or remain apart
- include 3 paragraphs
- use size 12 font
- space with 1.5
Due: Periods 4, 5, 6 are Thursday, 2/28 and Period 7 is due Friday, March 1.
Today in periods 4, 6, and 7 we participated in a Elizabethan theater simulation and watched part of a movie that featured an interesting theater and version of Romeo and Juliet.
Unpaired/paired write due tomorrow for periods 4, 5, 6.
