Monday (11/6)

I’m not sure what was accomplished in class today.  I think it was 3rd period that was cut very short.

I want  you try to write the “The Raven” Parody based on what Mr. Louie covered in class, so I expect you to study the analysis sheet + sample that I’ve posted below.

  3. Period 5 read through 9 examples of Character Soliloquy poems and began planning originals.

Tuesday (11/8)

  1.  Today, periods 4,5,6 met.
  2. Period 6 students, please see Monday’s post.
  3. Class began with an easy translation of MSND 5.1; we reviewed yesterday’s cut-n-paste work; read part of the Mechanicals Play (MSND 5.1.112-367); and watched that scene of the Hollywood MSND version.

Monday (11/7)

  1.  Today periods 3,4,5 met.
  2. Every student engaged in two pre-reading activities to create access points into a complex part of MSND.
  3. In groups of 4 students, passages from MSND Act 4, Scenes 1 and 2 were found and arrange in sequential order.  If this assignment was not completed in class, it must be finished as homework.

Tuesday (9/22)

1.  Another great at ACMS room 216, don’t you agree?!!  We filled out a form to be used tomorrow during science class when Ms. Snapp will get you started on a computer program called Naviance.   A letter was e-mailed to your parents about it.  Ask them if they got it.

2.  In periods 4 and 6 engaged in two pre-writing activities for a narrative piece called Oh My Story!  A rough, rough first draft is due Thursday for 6th period and Friday for 3rd, 4th, and 5th periods.

3.  I think I exported your grades successfully.  Check them please.


Wednesday (9/23)

1.  Periods 3 +5, you are writing a rough, rough draft of the accident/injury story your group selected today.  Draft should be about a page long.  Due tomorrow Thursday, 9/24.

2.  Periods 4+6, you learned/reviewed 4 Elements of Fiction:

  • dialogue
  • blocking
  • interior monologue
  • setting

We identified and highlight examples in a student paper titled “Sacramento.”

Now you are to incorporate these four elements in Oh My Story! paper.  This should be your second draft, which is due tomorrow Thursday 9/24 for 6th period + Friday 9/25 for 4th period.
