  • 4th Quarter Home Reading Log (HRL): No more HRL for the year!  🙂

  • Weekly Planner Sheet This is a document for students who have lost their planner.  It’s a sheet they can print out weekly and use to record their homework.  The template mimics our planners.  Since students are required to use a planner – this template is offered as a replacement for those who may need it.

MONDAY 5/01 – “A” Day

PERIODS 1 , 2, & 5  :

  • Students worked in small groups to dig into the  novel All the  Broken Pieces today to find the “significant” events.  Once identified, they explained who was impacted by the event, why the event was significant, and  whether the event qualified as a “traumatic event”.
  • Each group analyzed about 30 pages of the text – and then  presented their findings to the class.

  1. Work on any missing work
  2. Get rest and nourishing meals for testing on Wednesday.

TUESDAY 5/02  – “B” Day

 PERIOD 6 

  • See homework listed for Periods 1,2, & 5 above for Monday.

PERIODS 2 & 5  :

  •  Students met in groups and analyzed “Characters” from our novel.  They identified evidence that revealed the characters personality through STEAL.  All data will be collected and displayed for students to refer to later.  Thus, absent students can get caught up when they return to class.

WEDNESDAY 5/03 – ” E” Day  

PERIODS 1 , 2,

  • Due to State Testing – only periods 1 & 2 met today.
  • We listened to book talks on the next set of novels we will read for our “Historical Fiction” unit.  Each student selected their top 4 titles.
  • Then we analyzed a set of song lyrics for the song “Nothing More”.  Students highlighted their favorite lines and then identified sections of the song that fit with scenes/characters from our novel All the Broken Pieces.
